Blue Bell, PA - On Friday, January 13, 2012, the Montgomery Bar Association held its Annual Business Luncheon Meeting at the Meadowlands Country Club. Nearly 300 local dignitaries, legal professionals and law enforcement members attended the event which included the installation of a new president, Norristown attorney Donald J. Martin; election of the MBA’s officers for the 2012 term, and a special awards presentation honoring area attorneys, local law enforcement and community leaders.

2012 President Donald J. Martin, Esq. has practiced in the fields of  civil, criminal and administrative litigation since 1973.  He received his B.A. in 1970 from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. in 1973 from the University of Chicago Law School.  Since 1979, Mr. Martin has limited his practice to appellate matters, motions, and providing assistance to other attorneys in the preparation and trial of complex cases.  He served the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas as its law clerk for asbestos litigation beginning in 1981, has been law clerk to all Montgomery County Senior Judges since 1998, and was appointed law clerk for complex litigation in 2002. Mr. Martin continues to serve that Court in those areas as an appointed judicial officer. He is a member of the Montgomery, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, and the Montgomery County Trial Lawyers Section. He served as a Director of the Montgomery Bar Association from 1986 to 1989, as its Secretary in 2008, its Treasurer in 2009 its Vice President in 2010, and President-Elect in 2011.

He has been a member of the House of Delegates of the Pennsylvania Bar Association since 2001.  He was Chair of the Solo and Small Firm Practice Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association from 2002 to 2004. Mr. Martin's series of articles "Preserving Issues for Appeal" has appeared in the PBA Solo and Small Firm Practice Section News, and he is co-author of Chapter 7, "Appeals" in Gerhard, Pennsylvania Medicaid: Nursing Home Care. Beyond Martin’s professional accolades, he has been as long-time champion of the association’s diversity efforts and is popular among members for his quick wit. 

For the 2012 Bar Year, Paul C. Troy, Esq. will serve as President-Elect, Michael F. Rogers, Esq. will serve as Vice President, Bruce Pancio, Esq. will serve as Treasurer and Carolyn R. Mirabile, Esq. will serve as Secretary.

Jacqueline M. Reynolds, Esq., a member in the law firm of Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin in King of Prussia was named President of the MBA’s Trial Lawyers Section.   Seth D. Wilson, Esq., a partner in the law firm of Morris and Clemm, P.C. in Plymouth Meeting was named President of the MBA’s Young Lawyers Section.  Christina M. DeMatteo, Esq., a member in the law firm of Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller in Norristown was named Chair of the MBA’s Family Law Section.   Michael J. Maransky, Esq., a partner in the law firm of Fox Rothschild, LLP in Blue Bell was named Chair of the MBA’s Probate and Tax Section.

Bennett and David Rupp of Bikers Against Child Abuse.  Since the beginning of the Bar Foundation in 1987, the Bar Foundation has honored Judge Moss by presenting the award to a Montgomery County resident who has provided exceptional service in support of the justice system.
