|Sharon Giamporcaro joined the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office in 1992. She currently serves as a Deputy District Attorney and the Chief of the Juvenile Division. Ms. Giamporcaro began her career in the District Attorney's Office in the Trials Division Major Crimes Unit, was promoted to the Chief of the Juvenile Division in 1994 and subsequently became a Deputy District Attorney in 2000. She supervises all investigates and prosecutions within the Juvenile Division and has been awarded the "District Attorney's Medal". Ms. Giamporcaro assists the District Attorney in directing the Youth Aid Panel Program and the Montgomery County School Safety Committee, and is on the Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center Management Team. In 2010 she was appointed to the Board of Managers for the Montgomery County Youth Center and to the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Task Force on the Interbranch Commission Report on Juvenile Justice.
At the Montgomery Bar Association, Ms. Giamporcaro has been Co-Chair for the Rules of Juvenile Court since 2011, participates in the "Liberty and Law" Civics Program and has served as a Continuing Legal Education speaker and program organizer. She has lectured on numerous occasions for law enforcement, educational institutions and community organizations throughout Montgomery County on juvenile justice, criminal law and school safety. Ms. Giamporcaro is a registered nurse, who has practiced in pediatrics and geriatrics. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981 and from Villanova School of Law in 1986.
