Trial Lawyers Section "Trial Advocacy CLE Series" Continues This Wednesday

The Beginning of Trial - Voir Dire & Opening Statements -- in the second of five trial advocacy CLE programs presented by the MBA Trial Lawyers Section, Frank Murphy, Esq. and Daniel Sherry, Esq. will illustrate how jury selection and opening statements can influence trial outcomes. The seminar is scheduled for April 17, 2019, noon - 1:30 PM at the MBA Building.

The five-part series has been designed to take you through all stages of the trial process, from pretrial preparation to closing arguments and all stages in between.  The Series will conclude with a blockbuster mock trial event in November that you won’t want to miss.  In addition to requisite CLE credits, attendees of all five programs will be recognized with a formal Certificate of Completion. Each year, our local legal community gathers together to observe Law Day, a national day set aside to celebrate the rule of law. Please join us on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM beginning in Courtroom "A" of the Montgomery County Courthouse. Our festivities will include an Admission Ceremony for new members of the Bar, an Awards Ceremony recognizing individuals for public service, the honoring of our High School Mock Trial District Champions, and a FREE Law Day Luncheon, sponsored by Penn Community Bank, at the MBA Building. Help the Young Lawyers & Family Law Sections Keep Norristown Beautiful!

The MBA's Young Lawyers Section is teaming up with the Family Law Section to clean up the streets around the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown.  This initiative will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., rain or shine (meet at the Bar Association Building - 100 W. Airy St., Norristown, PA 19401).  Through a partnership with Keep Norristown Beautiful, volunteers will be given protective gloves and clean up equipment.  Please consider joining us to help to keep Norristown clean!

Urgent Need for Volunteers - Your Help is Needed to Keep EPIC Going!

The Eviction Prevention and Intervention Coalition ("EPIC"), the MBA and MBF’s groundbreaking eviction prevention program, is calling on each of you to help ensure its continued success.

MBA volunteers provide pro bono assistance to EPIC on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. This is a high-impact/low-commitment opportunity, and no prior landlord/tenant experience is necessary.
