Delaware Valley Legal Expo - Now Through December 11th
Legal Expo

The Delaware Valley Legal Expo continues through December 11, 2020! We've partnered with one of the nation's leading exhibition technology providers to deliver a truly immersive virtual event experience. You'll still have the opportunity to attend CLEs, learn about the latest legal products and services through one-click live chat, and enter for the chance to win dozens of amazing door prizes - all from the comfort and safety of your home or office. As always, the Delaware Valley Legal Expo is free to attend and is a co-production of the Independence Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators and Montgomery Bar Association.

CLICK HERE to view a brief video about the new format and to register!

Please note that not all exhibitors will be in their booths to chat with at all times; however, some will be.  Please be aware that if you enter a virtual booth and attempt to chat with an exhibitor by typing-in your name, email, and “chat now”,  you may need to wait a minute or two for them to respond.  If you wait for a minute or two and nobody responds, they will receive an email indicating you attempted to chat with them.  Exhibitors will typically follow up within a few minutes and will send you a link to their video chat area (when time permits).  By chatting with them, you’ll be automatically entered into their prize drawing and one or two other grand prize drawings.  Alternatively, you can elect to schedule a chat appointment with them by clicking on the “Schedule Appointment” button in their virtual booth.

Now Accepting Nominations for the Hon. Horace A. Davenport Award
Horace Davenport Award

In 2017, Leadership Academy participants reviewed the MBA’s efforts and progress towards the development of a more diverse and inclusive association, and provided a list of recommendations to help build on these efforts.  These recommendations included the creation of the Hon. Horace A. Davenport Award, in honor of the first African-American judge to sit on the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas, who passed away in 2017.  The Davenport Award shall be given to:

"...an individual or organization who has facilitated diversity in the hiring, retention, and promotion of attorneys from diverse backgrounds and/ or in their recruitment and elevation to positions of leadership in the Montgomery Bar Association, or who has otherwise championed diversity within the Montgomery County legal community.”

The Montgomery Bar Association Diversity Committee is now accepting nominations for this prestigious award, which will be presented at the Annual Business Luncheon on January 8th. Please email your nomination, along with a brief explanation of how the individual or organization embodies the criteria for the award, to Nancy Walsh (nancy@tbdnowllc.com) no later than Friday, December 4th

Speakers Needed for Collaboration with the Norristown Chamber of Commerce
Norristown Chamber of Commerce

In support of continuing efforts to expand its outreach, the MBA Diversity Committee is proud to announce new and growing collaborations with the Norristown Chamber of Commerce which will provide us, among other opportunities, the ability to develop deeper connections with local, minority-owned businesses. We are seeking interested members for presentations (approximately 20-30-minute presentation; 15-20-minute Q & A for a total of 45 minutes) on various subject matters of interest to local businesses.

These presentations will be broadcast to other area Chambers of Commerce and saved on our website, providing valuable networking opportunities for participating members. We are currently looking for someone to present on Landlord/Tenant matters (specifically addressing the implications of COVID), and someone to present on PPP loans; if you are qualified and interested in speaking on either of these topics and/or if you are interested in speaking on a different topic of interest to Chamber members, please contact Nancy Walsh at nancy@tbdnowllc.com asap. Our hope is to schedule two such presentations prior to the end of the year.
