Topic: Presentation to discuss potential immigration options/remedies for children who lack immigration status and may be victims of trafficking, crime, abuse, neglect, and other related trauma. 1. Overview of common situations and how to identify. 2. Potential options, for example, T visa (Trafficking), Asylum, U visa and V A W A (Victims of Crime and Domestic Violence), Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), adoption and updates re Special Immigration Juvenile (SIJ) process: requirements and guidelines on eligibility; and available resources. 3. Identifying and handling possible conflicts regarding representation. 4. Best practices for interviewing children and their families; and resources for help.
