Lawyers Host School Supply Drive for Local Children in Foster Care

NORRISTOWN – Montgomery Bar Association’s Women in the Law Committee, in partnership with Montgomery County’s Office of Children and Youth, is again hosting a school supply drive to benefit children in foster care here in Montgomery County.  From now until August 14, drop off new school supplies and book bags at the Montgomery Bar Association between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm Monday – Friday.  The building is located at 100 West Airy Street in Norristown.  Organizations interested in joining MBA’s efforts should contact 610-279-9660.

Foster care affects thousands of children and families, as well as society as a whole. Child welfare issues arise in families of every race, ethnicity, culture, income and age group.  Children and youth are placed in foster care when their parents (or guardians) are no longer able to ensure their essential wellbeing.  These young people need stable, loving care until they can either safely reunite with their families or establish other lifelong relationships with a nurturing adult.  Your donation will help ease the burden on these foster families and provide foster children with the educational tools needed to excel in school and beyond.
