|Jeffrey M. Lindy, Esquire concentrates his practice in federal and state criminal defense, and represents both corporate and individual clients during all phases of criminal, civil, and administrative proceedings brought by governmental and law enforcement authorities. Mr. Lindy and the attorneys who are associated with his firm also engage in commercial litigation, protecting their clients¯ interests in complex business disputes.
Mr. Lindy is a former federal and state prosecutor having served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York. During a ceremony in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Attorney General personally presented Mr. Lindy with the John Marshall Award for outstanding legal achievement. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Lindy is a faculty member with the National Institute of Trial Advocacy ("NITA") and also serves as a faculty instructor with the Office of Defender Services of the Administrative Office of the United States Courts. He was previously appointed to the United States Magistrate Judge Selection Committee for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and currently serves as the District Representative to the Criminal Justice Act ("CJA") Panel where he represents the interests of the more than 200 attorneys who have been qualified to represent indigent criminal defendants in federal court.
Mr. Lindy currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the Defender Association of Philadelphia and is past Chair of the Federal Bar Association's Criminal Law Committee. He is an original Board member of the Pennsylvania Innocence Project. Mr. Lindy is active in the Montgomery and Philadelphia Bar Associations and in community affairs, serving as President of the Bala Cynwyd Civic Association, on the Board of Directors of the Union Fire Association, and as a member of the Board of the Education Foundation of Lower Merion. He was formerly a Board member of the National Clearinghouse for the Defense of Battered Women. In recognition of his dedication and service to the community, in 2006, the civic association honored Mr. Lindy by presenting him with the Citizen of the Year Award and, since 2005, he has been honored as a "Pennsylvania Super Lawyer."
Mr. Lindy is a graduate of the Temple University School of Law (J.D., 1986) and Cornell University (B.A., 1980).
